About Me

I am a licensed psychologist in the state of Texas.  I completed my PhD in Counseling Psychology at the University of Oklahoma in 2014. I completed my pre-doctoral internship at the Eastern Kansas Veterans Affairs System. I am a second-generation psychologist and, in addition to my therapy and assessment practice, enjoy teaching introductory psychology classes as well as various topics related to my work for churches and mental health groups. I currently live in Austin, Texas with my husband and two daughters.

I believe the purpose of counseling is first and foremost to provide understanding into our experience.  By providing new insights, highlighting old patterns, and challenging the way we view others and ourselves, counseling can help us work through some of the things that may be holding us back from a better, fuller life.  I believe this purpose is best served by a combination of techniques and approaches tailored to the individual client and his or her presenting issues.

Similarly, psychological testing and assessment is a highly individual process designed in conjunction with the client’s goals to answer important questions, provide accurate diagnosis, and assist any other treatment providers he or she is partnering with. I believe in carefully selecting current, research-supported instruments and working closely with both the client and his or her treatment providers to provide the highest quality assessment experience.

I can work with issues including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, relationship difficulties, and adjustment problems.  The psychological testing and assessment services I offer include: full psychological and neuropsychological battery, adult ADHD assessments, cognitive baseline testing, and learning disability screenings. My services are for clients ages 16 and older.
